Who Was There?
According to Moonalice legend, tonight’s poster by Chris Shaw includes the only known photo of the Arctic River Hippo, a crypto-zoological creature rumored to inhabit the Chilkoot and other streams in these parts. To avoid discovery, the Arctic Hippo disguises itself as a large granite boulder in mid-river; in winter, the tell tale cover of snow provides the best indication that you are in presence of an Arctic Hippo. If you are crazy enough to find yourself waist deep in the Chilkoot in mid-winter, proceed with caution. The Arctic River Hippo has lightning reflexes and a very big mouth.
