According to Moonalice legend, tomorrow is Labor Day. It is a day traditionally celebrated without labor. Less well known is the story of the Sunday before Labor Day, known as Silence Sunday, which we just celebrated by making loud music.
Today’s poster by Darrin Brenner depicts Silence Moonalice, who seems to have gotten her dosage exactly right. She is buzzing big time.
Silence wants you to know that the Merry Pranksters’ bus, Furthur, is back in San Francisco. You can visit her at the Haight Street Art Center’s new Forever Grateful exhibit in the County Building in Golden Gate Park. Go online to haightstreetart.org to book your tickets. Furthur will be there — along with other amazing experiences — until October 25. The art, photography, and instruments part of Forever Grateful runs until September 20. No tickets required for that.
Forever Grateful was created by Dead Heads, for Dead Heads. If all goes well, it will lead to a permanent Grateful Dead museum.
