Who Was There?
According to Moonalice legend, tonight's poster by Dennis Loren celebrates tribal inventor Charles Crawford Moonalice. Born right here in Long Beach, Charles devoted his life to creating a hemp-powered one man band! Today is the centennial Charles' near miss ... the day he got closest. The bands of his era were huge, so Charles often integrated 50 or 100 instruments in a one man band. Then came the hard part: playing. What with the organ and all the horns, Charles need lots of wind. Beans did the trick.
