Summer of Soul -- Featuring Lester Chambers & The Chambers Brothers -- wins Academy Award!
Summer of Soul, a documentary directed by Questlove about the Harlem Culture Festival of 1969, won the Oscar for Best Documentary. In addition to The Chambers Brothers, the documentary features Nina Simone, Moms Mabley, Steve Wonder (at age 19), Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, The Fifth Dimension, BB King and many others.
